Who We Are & What This Covers

Furniture GPT is operated by Akshay Bansal, sole proprietor, based at Metro heights, Sevoke Road, Siliguri, 734001, West Bengal, India.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data. We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable global privacy regulations.

Data We Collect From You

Account information: Email address, password (stored hashed), name (if provided)

Uploaded photos: Room photos and furniture photos you upload to use the Service

Generated images: AI-generated visualisations produced from your uploads

Communications: Any messages you send us via email or support channels

Data We Collect Automatically

Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, generation counts, timestamps

Cookies: Essential cookies for login and session management, and analytics cookies

Why We Collect It

Provide the Service: Uploaded photos, account info

Authenticate and secure your account: Email, password hash, IP, device info

Improve the Service and fix bugs: Usage data, error logs

Customer support: Communications, account info

Send transactional emails: Email address only — no marketing emails

Who We Share Data With

We share data only with the following third parties, and only to the extent necessary to provide the Service:

Anthropic (Claude API)

Receives your uploaded photos for analysis. Does not train models on API data per their commercial terms.

Google (Gemini / Imagen API)

Receives the analysis prompt and photos to generate visualisations. Does not train models on API data per their commercial terms.

Supabase

Stores your account data, uploaded photos, and generated images. Hosted on AWS ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region.

Vercel

Hosts the Furniture GPT website.

Google Analytics & Vercel Analytics

Receive anonymised usage data only.

We do not sell your data to anyone. We only share data where required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Uploaded room & furniture photos — 30 days from upload, then auto-deleted

Generated images — 90 days from generation, then auto-deleted

Account information — Until you delete your account

Transaction records — 7 years (Indian tax law)

Server access logs — 90 days

Support communications — 2 years

When you delete your account, uploaded photos and generated images are deleted within 30 days. Transaction records are retained for Indian tax law requirements in anonymised form where possible.

AI Training

We do not use your uploaded photos or generated images to train AI models. Our AI providers (Anthropic and Google) also do not train their models on data processed through their commercial APIs, per their published terms.

Your room photos remain private to you.

Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act and applicable laws, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you

Correct inaccurate or incomplete data

Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)

Withdraw consent for processing, where consent is the legal basis

Port your data to another service (where technically feasible)

Lodge a complaint with India's Data Protection Board

No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.

Data Location and Transfers

Your data is stored primarily in India (via Supabase on AWS Mumbai region) to comply with data localisation requirements. Some data may be processed in the United States by our AI providers (Anthropic, Google) and analytics providers, who are bound by their own privacy commitments and applicable cross-border data transfer rules.

Children

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@furnituregpt.tech and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
